RAIC (Richmond Avant Improv Collective) is Samuel Goff, Abdul Hakim Bilal, Erik Schroeder, Zoe Olivia Kinney and Laura Marina. Our aims are to expand musical possibilities through improvisation and compositions that don't fit in with our regular ensembles. RAIC strives to be a place for total freedom musically. The four members sometimes play together and sometimes form our own ensembles. The only rule in RAIC is that at least one of us has to be performing in the ensemble. We have attempted avant garde, soundtrack, ambient, noise rock and free jazz, classical, post rock, etc.
